Are you thinking about helping others? The summer holiday gives you time to do something for them. Helping others can make you happy. You can also make new friends when working as a volunteer.

Don’t let your brain (大脑) get lazy. You need to make your brain run. Visit the library or bookstore and find books that are interesting for you. You can learn a lot from books.

Think about other things you wish to do. Write a book? Study English? Get a job? Make a trip to some interesting places?

Rachel will go camping with Ginny

Ginny went to the mailbox to get the mail. She saw a letter for her. It was from her friend Rachel. Rachel and Ginny were neighbors before, but Rachel and her family moved away two years ago. Rachel and her family will be camping close to Ginny’s house.

Ginny can’t wait to talk to her parents. She hopes her parents can let her go camping. She wants to see Rachel again. She wants to swim with Rachel. Ginny’s favorite camping activity is having campfires. She also likes to sleep in a tent.

In China, some schools have a “spring outing” every year. Students go to parks or some other interesting places for fun. People in the US also have their own special customs（风俗）.

When I was in college, some of my friends and I took a road trip across the country for the spring break. We visited all kinds of cool places and met lots of new friends along the way.

I like the spring cleaning, too. It’s another（另一个）custom in spring in the US. Each spring, many families will clean their houses. Families will find old things that they don’t want and sell（卖）them to their neighbors at low prices（价格）in their yard. It’s called a yard sale（出售）. You never know what you may find at a yard sale. I’ve found musical instruments（乐器）, books which can’t be found easily, and all kinds of other interesting things. Spring cleaning is a good way to get a fresh start for the new year.
