There was once a bat(蝙蝠)that was very lazy and he didn’t want to hunt insects. One day, he looked out of the window and saw a bird in its cage. The bird was given all its food and water and didn’t do anything at all. He admired (羡慕) a lot and he decided to become a child’s pet and then he made a plan.

The bat flew to parks so that he could be seen by some children and taken home. However, that bat was ugly and the children paid little attention to him. So the bat decided to improve his look. Finally, he met a little boy who was willing to keep him as a pet and took him home.

The bat was happy in his cage, in a warm and comfortable house. But when he wanted to eat something, there were no insects for him. There was only bird food in his cage. When the boy noticed the bat was getting thinner, he used a spoon to feed the bat bird food in order to make the bat enjoy that kind of food.

Some days later, the bat managed to escape from the cage and returned home. He began to hunt insects for food with other bats. Later, he became strong and enjoyed his life as a bat.

Love is a two-way street

A father sat at his desk and looked at his bills when his young son rushed in and announced," Dad, because today is your birthday and you're 40 years old, I'm going to give you 40 kisses, one for each year!"When the boy started making good on his word(履行诺言), the father shouted, "Andrew, don't do it now. I'm too busy!"The boy soon fell silent as tears fell from his big blue eyes. Feeling sorry, the father said,"You can finish later." The boy said nothing but quietly walked away. That evening the father said, " Come and finish the kisses now, Andrew!"But the boy didn't'. Unfortunately, a few days later after the father's birthday, the boy had an accident and died. His sad father wrote, "If only(要是……该多好)I could tell him how sorry I am for my thoughtless words, and how much my heart is hurting." Love is a two-way street. We must warmly accept any loving act, or others will take it as a "NO" and it can leave a scar(伤痕).If we don't receive love, our life will lose its true meaning. Nothing is more important than accepting love from those who are near and dear to us.

One day, an ant (蚂蚁) was trying to find food for the winter. After she found a lot of food, she felt good about herself. When she sat on the road side to rest, she saw a caterpillar (毛毛虫).

“Good morning,” the caterpillar said.

The ant looked at the caterpillar and thought arrogantly (傲慢地), “Ah, he is really an ugly (难看的) caterpillar. But I’m pretty, and hard-working!” Then she replied, “Morning. Where are you going?”

“I’m going home. It’s in the tree,” the caterpillar said.

“I should never expect an ugly caterpillar to be smart. It’s dangerous to live up there! You should live underground (地下的), just like me,” the ant said. Then she went on her way.

Later that spring, the ant happened to be around the caterpillar’s home. She looked around but couldn’t find the caterpillar. As the sun rose over the mountains, the ant looked up. Then she saw the most beautiful butterfly flying in the sky.

“Good morning, again!” the butterfly shouted. “I’m that caterpillar!”

“Wow!” said the ant. That was all she could say.
