Zhao Li is called “Prince Butterfly”. He’s famous as the 【小题1】 of the “Chinese version (版本) of Fabre’s Book of Insects (《昆虫记》)” and the founder of Asia’s largest insect museum.

His story with insects can 【小题2】 back to his childhood. In his early years, Zhao started making butterfly specimens (标本) with the 【小题3】 of his parents.

Zhao’s 【小题4】 for butterflies is crazy. During his college years, his 【小题5】 was going into the forests. At the age of 19, he cycled over 500 kilometers, lived in farmhouses or temples, and 【小题6】 dry food along the way. He discovered Lethe bipupilla, which was the first time a new butterfly species (种类) in Sichuan had been found by a Chinese.

The discovery trips can sometimes be 【小题7】. In 1992, Zhao came across a mudslide (山崩) in Mount Gongga. 【小题8】, a tree got in the way of a big rock coming toward him and saved him. However, the dangers didn’t stop him looking for butterflies.

To find the Teinopalpus aureus (金斑喙凤蝶) which is nationally 【小题9】, Zhao spent the whole seven days 【小题10】 on the highest peak (山峰) in southern Hainan. He finally took a close-up photo of this butterfly species.

Wu Ming is a young German born in 1997. He is a big 【小题1】 of Chinese cultures. He loves Chinese kung fu, Chinese operas, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and so on very much. He has been learning TCM 【小题2】 2016. Now he is studying for his master’s degree (硕士学位) at Henan University of Chinese Medicine.

As he thought some diseases can’t be 【小题3】 completely with Western medicine, he decided to dig into TCM. Wu came to Henan province in 2015, where a 【小题4】 TCM culture can be enjoyed. After one-year of learning Chinese language, he started to learn Chinese medicine. He hopes to solve problems and understand Chinese cultures deeply by learning TCM.

To overcome difficulties in communicating, he learned and practiced Henan dialect (方言), as his teachers, schoolmates and patients 【小题5】 speak in Henan dialect in their daily conversations. 【小题6】 sometimes he still has trouble telling the difference between Mandarin (普通话) and Henan dialect, he can use the dialect to communicate with others.

Studying TCM also changed Wu’s mind and lifestyle. He used to stay up late every night playing with his friends, losing 【小题7】 in an exciting but unhealthy life. But now, according to the Yin-Yang principle (原则) in TCM, he lives a balanced and 【小题8】 life, practicing good habits such as drinking tea and reading ancient books.

In Wu’s opinion, there’s no big difference between China and Western countries. “We are the same. Misunderstanding comes from being out of touch,” said Wu. He plans to 【小题9】 a traditional Chinese clinic (诊所) in Germany after graduation, which could serve as a bridge between the two countries and attract 【小题10】 attention to TCM and Chinese cultures.
