So,what is such a terrible COVID-19 ? Let’s get to know some information about it.First, COVID-19 is a common cause of colds and other respiratory (呼吸的) infections(感染）in humans and certain other mammals and birds.In fact, unlike the avian influenza (禽流感）which broke out(爆发）in some farm animals several years ago , the COVID-19 ,which get its name from the crown-like spikes (像皇冠尖的) on their surface,first exists （存在）in some wild animals, it can easily spread from one animal to another. For this time, the coronavirus（冠状病毒) in animals may change suddenly, then it easily infected humans, It is reported that it has never been met before. We have no experience about this, so this makes it harder for doctors to diagnose (诊断) and cure, and at last, it lead to the terrible outbreaks.

The symptoms (症状）of COVID-19 are similar to those experienced when people suffer from flu. The main symptoms include fever, cough, tiredness, muscle pain and shortness of breath. Some sick people have also experienced bad headaches. So if you have such symptoms,you must pay more attention to yourself and see a doctor soon.

COVID-19 typically passes through droplets(飞沫). Therefore, scientists advice taking action like simple protections,such as wearing masks, washing hands with soup, avoiding touching eyes, nose, or mouth with one’s hands, and staying away from people showing flu-like symptoms. When coughing and sneezing ,we should over our nose and mouth with tissue, also, avoiding close contact (接触）with anyone with colds or flulike symptoms is the most important.Therefore,everyone, please stay away from any public area which might risk infecting you.

According to a new survey, student safety had become a big problem. Now in many big cities of China, many schools start a new lesson: self-protection (自我保护). Students like this lesson because there are no exams or boring classes. And they can learn how to save lives and know how to stop danger before it really happens.

● If you are in a traffic accident

If a car hurts you, you should remember the car number. If it is a bicycle, try to call your parents before you let the rider go. This is because you don’t know how seriously you are hurt.

● If it is raining hard and there is lightning (闪电)

Don’t stay in high places and stay away from trees.

● When there is a fire

Get away as fast as you can. Put wet things on your body and try to find an exit (出入口). Do not take the lift (电梯).

● If someone is drowning (溺水)

If you can’t swim, don’t get into the water. Cry out for help.

Remember that danger is never as far as you think. Take care of yourself at all times!

●If you are robbed (抢劫)

Keep calm (冷静). If you cannot cry for help or run away, give the robber your money.

Try to remember what the robber looks like and tell the police later.
