Welcome to the new Hong Kong Sleeping Bus Tour that helps you catch up on sleep.

The bus tour is a five-hour ride around Hong Kong on a double-decker (双层) bus. The bus stops at places like the city’s Lantau Island and the airport, where passengers can get off and take photos.

So how did the idea of the tour grow? “When we were trying to develop new tours, I saw a post from my friend saying that he was stressed out by his work, and that he couldn’t sleep at night,” said Kenneth Kong, the organizer of the bus tour. “But when he was traveling on the bus, he could sleep well. His post inspired (赋予灵感) us to create this tour.”

Tickets for the first Sleeping Bus Tour quickly sold out, and for $13 to $51 a ticket, riders can choose seats on the upper or lower deck.

Some passengers came prepared, bringing their own blankets and changing their shoes to slippers, while others brought travel pillows (枕头). Passengers were also given an eye mask and earplugs for a more comfortable sleep.

Dr. Shirley Li, who researches sleep at the University of Hong Kong, said, “People in Hong Kong don’t have enough time to sleep. They may tend to connect public transport with their sleep. And that’s why they found it easier to fall asleep on the bus.”
