A great little ski resort: Folgaria, Italy

Only 95km or about 90 minutes from Verona Airport, Folgaria is a mid-sized resort in the northern Italy.It also has a wonderful and long ski history, as the first ski lift in Italy was built here in the 1930s.

Folgaria is proud of its history and culture.You're unlikely to hear English spoken here and in some bars, it won't even be Italian, but Cimbro, the ancient southern Bavarian language brought to these mountains by settlers.It's also reflected in the food culture.Pure local mountain honey is delicious.You can enjoy it when you come to ski.Beyond the bars, restaurants and a few small hotels.the community is also trying to develop mountain biking.

The modern three-star Hotel Luna Bianca is one of the most popular hotels in Folgaria, with big, clean rooms, and good service.The ski bus stops outside the front door.

During the last summer vacation, I went to Qingdao, Shandong Province, with my parents and my sister. We went there by high-speed train. It took us only three hours and a half to get there because the train ran very fast. It could run about 250 kilometers an hour.

On the first two days, we went to the seaside and had a great time. There was always bright sunshine and fresh air. The sea was as blue as the sky. My parents put up a tent near the seaside. My sister and I played games happily. We also picked up shells (贝壳). There were many shells in different shapes and colors. However, we only picked up the most beautiful ones. If we picked up too many, we had no bags to put them in. I sent some of them to my friends when I got home.

On the third day, it was rainy. We went to the Qingdao Museum by taxi. We learned about the local history and culture there. It was the last stop, but it was my favorite part of the trip.

We stayed in a clean and tidy hotel when we were in Qingdao. Its price wasn’t high. It was close to the night market. After a day’s activities, we went to the market to have seafood. It was really delicious!

Qingdao is really a beautiful and interesting place. We all like it very much.
