My name is John. I come from a family of three. There are many rules in my family. I can’t eat on the bed. I can’t talk when I eat. I can’t listen to music in the evening. I can’t watch TV on school nights.

From Monday to Friday, I go to school, and I have lots of homework to do. I am very busy. But my mother always asks me to do the dishes and clean the bedroom. I can’t relax and I feel terrible. Sometimes, I ask my father for help. But he always says, “You are not a child, John. You must learn to do it.”

Now I am a middle school student. I know my parents make these rules to help me. They are always strict with me, but I love them. They teach me how to do everything well.

“David!”

“David! It’s late!” It’s his mother’s voice. “Do you know what time it is?” she asks.

“Erm...” says David.

“It’s eight o’clock! You’re late for school! Now, hurry up!” His mother goes back to the kitchen. David gets up. There are books and comics all around his room. David loves reading, and he loves writing, too. He writes stories about a lot of different characters(人物). And his favourite character is David Delgado, the Great Detective(侦探).

David hasn’t got a pet. He likes cats, but his mother says he can’t have one because they haven’t got a garden. David thinks his mother doesn’t want a cat. But he doesn’t feel lonely(寂寞的). His head(头脑) is full of explorers(探险家), astronauts(宇航员), cowboys(牛仔) and secret agents(特工人员).

“Eat your breakfast quickly, love.” says his mum.

She is making his lunch. She works at the hospital and she is wearing her nurse’s clothes. “OK, ” David answers, starting to eat his cereal. “Don’t forget your sandwiches,” she says.

But ten minutes later when David runs out of the front door to each the bus, his lunch is still on the table.

And then David misses the bus. He waits another fifteen minutes for the next one.

I love to visit my grandma’s farm. I visit it every week(周). I’m happy to go there.

I love to do work on grandma’ farm. I can see the cats and the dogs. I can feed (喂) animals and touch (摸) eggs.

I love the dogs and rabbits on grandma’s farm. I know how to feed them. Bobby is my favorite dog and Molly is my favorite rabbit. I often fly kites with them. They’re my good friends.

I love to hear (听) about the farm. Grandma tells me stories (故事) on the farm. I think she is glad to live on the farm.

I love to see the sky on the farm. We can see the moon (月亮) and stars (星星). They’re beautiful. I love to visit my grandma’s Farm.
