On 26^th January, the biggest earthquake in India 【小题1】 of 25,000 people. In the morning, when everybody 【小题2】 a nice day, the earthquake began. “There is 【小题3】 left between the sky and the earth any more. Everything has been 【小题4】 down,” said one of the 【小题5】. “There 【小题6】 no water, no food and no one has come to help.”

Nobody 【小题7】 in Pakistan, a country next to India. I was studying at school at that moment. We were on the 【小题8】 floor, so most of us didn’t feel anything. My mother didn’t feel anything, 【小题9】. She didn’t even know that it was an earthquake. My dad saw the computer shaking and then 【小题10】 the window and saw many people going out.

The high temperature caused forest fires in Chongqing in August, 2022. Firefighters, local people and volunteers all joined in firefighting. 【小题1】 them, motorcycle riders played an important role. Mountain roads are often covered with 【小题2】 of stones which fall easily so that cars can’t go through. Motorcycle riders 【小题3】 to carry much needed supplies to the firefighters. They also helped cut down trees and put out fires.

“It’s dangerous to ride on the mountain roads. 【小题4】 everyone falls,” said one of the motorcycle riders. “But we don’t stop 【小题5】 we just want to put out the fires as soon as possible.”

A college student was also one of 【小题6】. He was a 24-year-old motorcycle lover. Along with hundreds of others, he rode up and down the mountains through smoke and fire, to carry firefighting supplies on the 【小题7】 roads. His foot got injured while he was driving too close to the fires. But when he was 【小题8】 to the hospital, he cried, “I must continue fighting!” And soon he returned to the front lines.

“I want to do anything I can to help,” said another rider. “If we can’t go further, we’ll leave the supplies halfway up. The riders with 【小题9】 skills will carry them to the mountain tops, or volunteers will carry them on foot.”

These brave riders tried their best to protect their hometown. Their 【小题10】 moved us deeply.
