We each have a memory (记忆力). That’s why we can still remember things after a long time. Some people have very good memories and they can easily learn many things by heart, but some people can only remember things when they say or do them again and again. Charles Dickens, the famous English writer, said that he could walk down any long street in London and then tell you the name of every shop he had passed. Many of the great men of the world have surprising memories.

A good memory is of great help in learning a language. Everybody learns his mother language when he is a small child. He hears the sounds, remembers them and then he learns to speak. He can grasp a language very quickly, but an adult (成年人) can’t. Adults find it very hard to remember some words.

Can your memory become better and better when you do some practice? The answer is yes. After good practice, a person can remember better. Let’s practice to have a better memory.

Good study habits are important for all students. When you have good study habits, you will learn faster and better.

Other people learn English because they want to read newspaper and magazines in English.
