One Sunday morning the Whites went to the park. They got home very late. Father opened the front door and they all went into the house. It was very dark, so mother turned on the light. On the way to their bedroom, mother said, “Listen, John! I can hear someone in the bedroom.” They all stood silently outside the bedroom door. They heard the voice in the room.

“You’re right,” father said. “There are two men in it. They are talking.” Then he shouted, “Who is there?” But no one answered. Father opened the door quickly and turned on the light. The room was empty. Then father found something and laughed. The radio was on. “I forgot to turn it off this morning,” Father said.

In the morning, we went camping along a road in Green Park. We were happy. It was a sunny day. We were sure we would have a good time for this two-day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes.

However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o’clock, there was a shower. Unluckily, all of us didn’t take an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide in.

Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we reached the campsite (野营地). It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went to the wrong way. We had lost our way!

We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up (搭建) a tent to hide (躲藏) in, as everything was wet. We dried (把……弄干) ourselves, and it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us had been very tired.

Though this camping trip may not be very successful, we know each other better. And the most important thing I’ve learned from this trip is the importance of team spirit.

It’s 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Maria and her family are at home. Her aunt and her cousin are visiting them. What are they doing now?

Maria and her cousin Jenny are in the living room. They are sitting on the sofa and watching a TV show. It is so interesting that they laugh(笑) a lot. Maria’s father Mr. White is in the living room, too. He is reading a newspaper.

Peter and Jack, Maria’s two brothers, are not with them. Peter is doing his homework in the study. Jack is in his bedroom. He is playing computer games. He is crazy about (对……着迷) it and he spends(花费) a lot of time on computer games.

Maria’s mother Mrs. White and her aunt Julie are in the kitchen. They are good at cooking. They are making a big dinner for the family. They are talking happily at the same time.

Where is Pelusa, the family cat? Oh! She is sleeping under the sofa. Maybe(或许) she thinks it’s too noisy in the house.
