My mother used to ask me, “What is the most important part of the body?” When I was young, I thought ________ was very important to us, so I said, “My ears, Mommy.” She said, “No. Many people are deaf but still live a ________ life. Keep thinking ________ I will ask you again.”

It is not always easy to discover yourself. From a young age, I had a strong sense of who I would become, but something ___ happened and changed everything. To me, skating was more important than anything else in the world. Nothing else filled my heart with so much joy. I had no social life or other interests ___ skating. I spent 24 hours a week developing my skills. And I was paid back with first place medals in almost every competition.
