What is the best virtue (美德)? What can we learn from water? Laozi, a famous Chinese thinker 【小题1】 lived around 2,500 years ago, might have an answer.

Laozi tells us that the top character is just like water. All life in the world cannot live without water, but water never asks for anything in return. It benefits (使受益) all, competing with 【小题2】. It simply keeps giving quietly. Also, water often stays where people don’t like. This kind of low profile (低姿态) makes water the closest 【小题3】 the law of the universe (万物之规).

In dealing with people, we can act as water. Do our best to help 【小题4】 without trying to get anything back. At the same time, stay humble (谦虚的). Don’t always talk about the 【小题5】 you gave to other people. Even if you are in a 【小题6】 situation, you need to stay calm. After all, water will not choose where to be, and it 【小题7】 goes to where it is needed.

The Chinese nation has always held dear Laozi’s ideas about water. In 2014, President Xi Jinping 【小题8】 it at the welcome dinner of the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Beijing. He said APEC members are 【小题9】 together by the water of the Pacific Ocean and have a shared responsibility to make the Pacific an ocean of 【小题10】, friendship and cooperation (合作). This is the wisdom (智慧) water brings us.

It was summer and it was hot and sunny. A grasshopper (蚂蚱) 【小题1】 the summer jumping around in the sun and singing happily. One day an ant went hurriedly by, 【小题2】 very hot and tired.

“What are you doing on such a lovely day?” asked the grasshopper. “I 【小题3】 food for the winter,” said the ant, “and I suggest that you 【小题4】 the same.” And she went off their store. Why are we always tired, do you know?

First. If we can’t sleep【小题1】, we will be tired. But we are often too busy . We can't 【小题2】our work in the day and we must do it at night . We go to bed【小题3】 and get up early.So we can't sleep well. Most people【小题4】 at least eight hours and some more to sleep. If we【小题5】 for only five or six hours at night, we will be tired.

Second. When we are ill, we will be tired. But we don't know we are ill. So if you are always tired , perhaps you are not so【小题6】 .You’d better go to see a doctor.

Third. Perhaps you can't eat some kinds of food 【小题7】 eggs , nuts, meat, chocolate. If you are ill and tired after eating some food, please stop 【小题8】them to see if you are well.

At last. If the air around you isn’t nice and【小题9】, you will feel tired. So open the【小题10】often or go out for a walk ,and you will feel better.
