Many people who win lots of money may find that they have a lot of friends. The new friends they make may follow them for their money but they may also leave them when all money is spent. Sometimes people can’t decide what they want to do with all the money they have won, so they try to think of what they want. In the end, most people usually decide to save the money.

Laura once lost her purse, and worried for days. She was afraid to tell her parents about it. She even walked three miles to school each day because she didn’t have any money. She just kept thinking. “If I tell my parents, they’ll be angry!” But in the end, she talked to her parents and they were really understanding. Her dad said he sometimes made careless mistakes himself. They got her a new purse and asked her to be more careful. “I will always remember to share my problems in the future!” Laura says.
Robert Hunt advises students about common problems. He feels the same way as Laura. “It is best not to avoid our problems. We should always try to solve them.” He thinks that you can first find someone to talk to. This person doesn’t need to be an expert (专家) like himself. Students often forget that their parents have more experience than them, and are always there to help them.
In English, we say that sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. So you’re halfway to solving a problem if you talk to someone about it!

For middle and primary school students, they will need to learn how to plant vegetables and raise animals for labor(劳动) education. Learning how to do labor work is a necessary part of students’ lives. So the Ministry of Education(MOE) brought out a new curriculum standard(课程标准) for labor education in schools in 2021. Starting from the 2022 fall term, students in primary and middle schools have to take courses on labor skills at least once a week.
The new standard includes three types of labor tasks. The first is for things like everyday housework, including cleaning, cooking, and using washing machines and so on. Next is productive labor, including farming, making traditional art works, and using new technologies such as 3D printing. The third type is service work, which includes volunteer work.
Schools in China have traditionally paid more attention to study, and many have seen housework as a waste of children’s time. But according to the MOE, labor education must be built up to help students develop social values and get interested in labor.
These days, ▲ . Many welcome such courses and say it is necessary to teach young students basic life skills. Liu Fang, a mother of 6-year-old twins in Beijing, fully supports labor, education. For the past year, she has trained her daughters to do housework and make simple dishes for the family. “The purpose is to let them share duties as family members and become independent(独立的) as early as they can,” said Liu. “By doing housework, their hand-eye coordination, time management and organization skills can be trained and it’s also good to help them relax.” Through such education, Liu said her twins found fun in doing housework and became more independent.
