读下面关于美国人家庭习惯的文章,然后判断文章后面的问题,正确的答案写T,错误的答案写F。

Marina and Mia are twins. Even their parents find it hard to tell the difference between them. Although they look the same, the girls are different in most other ways. They don’t have many things in common. Mia likes spicy (辣的) foods, while Marina prefers sweet foods. Mia likes to study at night, while Marina prefers the morning.

They often fight with each other about these things. For example, when Mia says that waking up early in the morning is terrible, Marina argues, “Mornings are fresh. It is difficult to stay up late in the day when you feel sleepy!”

Their parents decided to put an end to their arguments and teach them that they can both be right.

Their father asked Mia to stand on one side of a board, while Marina stood on the other side. They couldn’t see each other’s sides. Their mother asked, “What color is the board?” Mia said it was black, while Marina said it was white. They started arguing again.

Their parents asked them to switch (交换) sides.

They were both quite surprised. Mia’s side had been painted black and Marina’s had been painted white. Both of them were correct.

Many of us are like Mia and Marina. We may insist (坚持) that we are right most of the time, only to find out that others can be right as well.

【小题2】Mia doesn’t like getting up early in the morning.
【小题3】The board had a different color on each side.

Stooping(弯腰) , the practice of searching and digging out thrown-away things on city sidewalks, has caught on in big Chinese cities, where young people have taken to the new movement.

A young man nicknamed Luo Ergou recently rode a second-hand electric bike through Hutongs, in Beijing, in search of valuable things that had been thrown there.

Luo first learned about stooping in July when he saw a post by a vlogger nicknamed Boniu on Xiaohongshu, who had over 20, 000 followers there. Boniu was introduced to stooping when she studied in the UK. After she returned, she brought the culture of stooping to China.

A skilled stooper knows where and when to search. Luo searched in Hutongs two or three days a week. He explained that street cleaners and some elderly in Hutongs also get good things. To avoid competing with them, Luo usually goes from 8 p. m. to 9 p. m. , when the elderly are at home and city cleaners are off work.

Stoopers also tend to turn street finds into things they need. Luo has turned a wooden box into a storage box. He has also turned a headboard he recycled into a cat toilet. Luo said something in sidewalk finds gives him a sense of achievement, adding that he has bought any tool for this purpose.

“One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” Luo also pointed, “Stoopers should share photos of sidewalk finds along with addresses online so that the other stoopers can pick up the finds. For stoopers, before they bring a good discard home, they need to find out whether they actually need it.

“It is a tradition of hard work and simple living,” Luo said.
