Be honest. That’s all you have to do on Honesty Day. It would be great if we were all honest every day of the year. It’s good that there is a day to encourage honesty. M. Hirsh Goldberg started Honesty Day. He chose the last day of April because the first day is April Fool’s Day, which celebrate lies. On Honesty Day, anyone may ask you any question and you should give a true and honest answer. That means that you have knowledge of Honesty Day.

M. Hirsh Goldberg wrote a book on telling lies. He said in his book that almost all persons lie about 200 times a day. In our daily life, a typical life for a man is “I did not drink that much” and for a woman is “Nothing is wrong, I’m fine.” It is found that nurses are the most honest people, while sales people and politicians (政客) are the biggest liars.

The food in Britain is very different from our Chinese food. For instance, they eat a lot of potatoes. They like to eat them every day. They eat bread for breakfast and usually for one other meal. They eat their bread with butter（黄油）, maybe cheese（乳酪）or jam, things we don’t eat much in China. Cheese and butter are made from milk. They drink a lot of milk, too. They drink the milk cold or hot, and they put it in their tea. They put sugar in their tea, as well. They are the world’s biggest tea drinkers. They like Chinese tea, but they drink mostly strong black tea from India and Sri Lanka（斯里兰卡）. They don’t eat much rice. For their main meal they like meat or fish with potatoes and one or two vegetables. They serve all these together. After the main meal they always have something sweet. They call this dessert（甜点心）. They don’t have jiaozi in Britain.

Many students have fun with their school life. But many Japanese students are unhappy. They have lots of pressure from their family. Most of Japanese students must study hard at school to please their parents and for future. So it’s tired and boring for some students.

Japanese students always try their best in school, but sometimes they may fail exams and make their parents lose hope for them. The students may have bigger pressure from both family and the school. So they finally don’t get interested in their schoolwork. In this way, more pressure and problems are waiting for them. That’s really a terrible thing.

According to a report, most Japanese parents would like to send their children to different schools on weekends, but it only helps kids to get good grades. They never mind the students’ healthy development. For example, many school students said they don’t know how to get on well with and how to take care of others. That’s bad for kids’ whole development.

In Japan, many schools usually own their strict rules from hair to clothes. So Japanese students live with great pressure both in school and at home.
