It is a nice day. Lucy is in the classroom. Her good friend Judy calls her, “Come to Room 203, Lucy.”

Lucy goes to Room 203. She sees a red note. It says, “Come in, Lucy. And go to the sofa.” On the sofa, Lucy finds a book. On the book is a green note. It says, “Go to the table.”

On the table, Lucy finds a cake. Next to it is a yellow note. It says, “Go to Room 204.”

Lucy goes to Room 204. What does she see? Judy, Alice and Gina are there.

“Happy birthday, Lucy,” they say.

A British family was going to have a birthday party for their child. Before guests’ arriving, a bear landed in the middle of the living room through a window. The bear was about 180 pounds.

“I was in the room, and I heard this sound,” Glenn Merrill, the child’s father, said. “And the next thing you know, this bear was like one metre away from me!”

The father ran into the next room and closed the door, locking the bear in the living room. The bear seemed to be quite happy staying in the living room, as it ate the child’s birthday cakes.

The father told that to the mother. “You are kidding me,” said the child’s mother, Alicia Bishop. But when she saw the bear, she was so afraid that she could say nothing. Later they were able to quickly open a door in the living room that led to the backyard. They shouted and scared the bear outside.

The heavy bear quickly regretted leaving. It went back to the window and looked at the left cakes. It seemed to say “I want more cakes.”

Bishop called 911 and Merrill used a stick to scare the bear away. When officers arrived, they killed the animal in the nearby house because it was a threat（威胁）to the family.

Yesterday was the best day of my life! Let me tell you about it. I got up early and ran to the kitchen in my pajamas (睡衣). It was my thirteenth birthday and I was really excited. In fact, I wasn’t sleeping all night because I kept thinking about all the gifts I would get.

I walked into the kitchen with a big smile on my face, but nobody looked up. Mum and Dad were reading their newspapers while my two elder brothers were eating breakfast. Nobody said a word! “They forget about my birthday!” I said to myself. I turned around and walked out of the kitchen. Suddenly, I heard a noise, so I went back to see what it was. I couldn’t believe my eyes! There were lots of gifts on the kitchen table. “Surprise!” I heard behind me. When I turned around, I saw Mum, Dad and my brothers!

Mum was holding a big cake with candles and they were singing “Happy birthday” to me. We shared the cake and opened all the gifts.

They didn’t forget my birthday. It really was the best day of my life!
