The Slender West Lake is as beautiful as the West Lake, but its shape is long and narrow, so it has its name. Visiting the Slender West Lake is just like enjoying a Chinese painting—there are colourful flowers and green trees around it. Famous gardens stand quietly around the lake.
The Five-Pavilion Bridge (五亭桥) has a history of more than 200 years. The five pavilions are like five big flowers on the lake. There are 15 holes in the bridge. A beautiful view can be enjoyed an fill-moon nights as “15 moons” will be reflected on the water. Besides, there are other popular places for visitors to enjoy, such as the Twenty-Four-Bridge Scenic Area and the Ten Thousand Flowers Garden.
The Slender West Lake is famous for its beautiful view, while it is also full of Chinese culture (文化). I live in a new town with my family. There are lots of tall buildings in the town. The streets are busy and the traffic is heavy, but the pollution is not very serious (严重的).
In our town, more than half of the buildings have fifteen to thirty floors. Most of the people live in such tall buildings, but they don’t have to climb the stair (楼梯). They use lifts to go up and down.
Many restaurants, supermarkets, cinemas and theaters are in very tall buildings. They are big, bright and modern (现代的). So people enjoy eating, shopping, seeing films and watching plays in them.
The streets in our town are wide, but because there are too many cars, they are still very busy. Sometimes when you come to the street crossing, you have to wait for the green lights for a long time.
