I studied in Los Angeles in July 2019. During that time, I often went to a nearby library when I had time. Because I am a book lover. In this library, I met a girl called Elena. She gave up several hours to help us there every Friday afternoon. Her job was to read books to us and listen to our reading. She spoke very slowly. So we all could understand her. We liked her very much. She was a very kind woman. She thinks teaching the students to read is very meaningful. And she can do what she loves to do.

Have you ever helped your parents with household chores? If so, what do you think the worst chore is?

You may have thought of several things already, but for English people, cleaning the oven is the most hated chore, a study released (发布) by Braun Care Style ironing (熨烫) systems on Sept 8 showed. Ironing is the second most disliked task, followed closely by changing the bed sheets (床单). However, their favorite chores—which they actually enjoy doing—are cooking, gardening and vacuuming (除尘).

If people around you have had a fever recently, it may not be COVID-19. According to China Daily, many places in China have come into the peak (高峰) period for seasonal flu. Influenza A is sweeping across the country. In the past three years, people did things to stop COVID-19 from spreading (传播), which also stopped the spreading of flu. As a result, people’s immunity to the flu went down. Besides, the flu and COVID-19 are different viruses (病毒), so getting COVID-19 does not stop you from getting the flu. Symptoms (症状) of influenza A: Cough, Fever above 38℃, Headache, Sore throat.
