From April to June, the Shanghai Mass Art Center (SMAC) will provide 11 night school courses in English for foreigners. Below are three of the courses. All three will be held in the Zheng Fei Building of the SMAC. Each course has 12 lessons.

● Chinese dim sum

The teacher will introduce the characteristics and ingredients (成分) of dim sum (点心) in South China. You will learn how to make the dim sum.

Calligraphy

You will learn how to appreciate the calligraphy (欣赏书法) works of the past dynasties. The teacher will also teach you how to write different kinds of calligraphy.

●Traditional handcrafts

The teachers will teach you hand sewing and embroidery (缝纫和刺绣). You will learn about silk culture, embroidery culture and more.
