In most parts of the world, many students help their schools make less pollution. They join “Environment Clubs”. In an environment club, people work together to protect the environment.

No-rubbish lunches. How much do you throw after lunch? Environment clubs ask students to bring their lunches in bags that can be recycled. The students try their best to make less rubbish.

No-car day. No-car day was first started by 34 cities in France on September 22nd, 1995. It was started to protect the environment. By now, more than 1,000 cities around the world have had a no-car day. In China, more and more people are taking part in the activity. The slogan for no-car day is, “If we drive for one less day, we can have one more nice day.” On a no-car day, nobody comes to school in a car—not the students and not the teachers!

Cars give pollution to our air, so remember: Walk, jump, bike or run! Use your legs! It’s lots of fun!

Turn off water! Do you know that some toilets could waste twenty to forty ml of water an hour? In a year, that will fill a small river! In the environment club, the members mend those broken toilets.

We have only one earth. Let’s work hard together to make our world cleaner and more beautiful.

Let’s say you are taking a walk along the road and you happen to see one or two waste bottles lying on the grass beside the road. What would you do?

You may have different choices. Firstly, you can leave the bottles there as they are. It was not you who threw them away. Why should you do something about it? This is quite OK. Secondly, you can pick them up and throw them into a dustbin (垃圾箱). By doing this, you have walked a step further to help make our home clean. This action is a better choice (选择). Thirdly, you might want to pick them up and give them to an old man or woman who collects waste for a living. If this is your choice, you have walked even further. You’re not only thinking about doing something for the environment, you’re also developing yourself to be a person who is kind to others.

As for young kids, they may always have such a question: “When do I grow up?” Yes! When does a child grow up? And how can a kid know he or she has grown up? These are interesting questions. As for us, middle school students, we’re no longer younger children. We should know whether or not we have grown up. When we start to have a sense of offering (提供) a helping hand for a cleaner city and greener world, and when we have a loving heart to think more of others than of ourselves and are ready to help them, we can say that we have grown up.

Remember: If we help others, others will help us. If we do our best for nature, our environment will have a great change.

Animal United is a 3D German cartoon. It is a story about animals that get together to find water. Along their journey, lots of funny things happen, and of course, they have a lot of adventures.

The animals in the grasslands in Africa are waiting for the coming flood. However, this years flood seems to come later than that in other years. The animals become worried. At the same time, some animals from other places come to the grasslands to look for peace. However, the situation seems worse because the water is becoming less and less. So they decide to look for the river.

Finally, they find the reason why they don’t have any water to drink. A dam (拦河坝) has been set up so that humans can have a better life. After a long fight with humans, they let the world know that animals are in danger.

This film is about environmental matters. The humans are bad and the animals are good. This film is to give humans a warning. Humans should know that animals also belong to the world.
