Films bring us more than fun. Watching films is also a good way to relax and learn. Here are three Chinese films that won praise (称赞) in 2023.

The first film, Chang’an, mainly tells the wonderful lives of the great poets Li Bai and Gao Shi, showing their deep friendship. It also shows us other famous poets from that time. We can often see their well-known poems in today’s Chinese books. What’s more, the film shows the beauty of many old cities.

The story of Never Say Never is adopted from real-life events. Its director, Wang Baoqiang, wants to help a group of poor children from small villages. He started to prepare the film in 2017. He describes the film as “a story of finding a way out”. It not only helps him out of trouble, but also means something to his own life.

The film Oh. My School! is from a network cartoon series (系列) that ran between 2014 and 2018. It tells the story of Wang Qiang, a student from a junior high school in Changchun, northeast of China. He is not good at any subjects. Unexpectedly, he exchanges his bodies with Ms Shi, a strict teacher. How interesting it is!

The movie Dangal is popular in China. Everybody likes this movie and many Chinese   people are fans of Admir Khan. In this film, he was a wonderful father, Mahavira Singh Pere.

Mahavira was once the champion of the Indian national wrestling (摔跤), forced to give up wrestling because of life pressure. He hoped that his son could help him realize his dreams and win gold medals in top-level competitions. Bad news was that his wife (妻子) gave birth to four girls. Luckily, when he thought his dream was broken, he found the amazing talents of his daughters. Then he began to train two of his daughters.

The two girls changed the skirts and cut off the long hair. Every day two girls woke up at 5:00a. m., and it was pretty early for such two young girls. What’s more, the girls did plenty of exercises,such as running, jumping, skipping, doing wrestling skills and so on. In India, especially in a small village, training girls like this means fighting against the whole world. But Mahavira didn’t mind what people thought, he just went ahead.

In the end, both of the two girls became world-class wrestlers.
