Do you know the Qinghai-Xizang Railway?
“It is a miracle (奇迹) to build a railway above the clouds,” a French newspaper once wrote about the Qinghai-Xizang Railway. The railway runs across no-man’s-land and climbs up snowy mountains. From Qinghai’s Golmud (格尔木) to Lhasa, about 550 km of the railway runs on frozen earth. Over 100,000 workers spent five years building it.
