For example,after exercising for a long time, you may sweat a lot, so you’re losing water from your blood. The kidneys know your blood volume(容量) is going down and the blood is getting saltier(含盐量更高). They want more water back into the blood to keep the balance. So they will give you a sign to drink, which means you will get thirsty. If you don’t have enough water, the thirst message will get stronger and stronger.
A lot of people may say that they don’t drink much water, but here’s a point that’s often missed: there is water in every single thing you put in your mouth. Your morning milk has water, so does you breakfast. And that snack—an apple, an orange, or a glass juice, just like you, is made of water too.
