The popular saying goes that “Up in the sky there is heaven (天堂), down on earth there are Suzhou and Hangzhou.” Hangzhou has always been a dream place 【小题1】 many people to live in or visit. Millions of people visit Hangzhou every year. Luckily, I got a chance to visit the famous city myself last August.

Hangzhou is 【小题2】 for its beautiful scenery, such as West Lake. Covering an area totaling 6.5 square kilometers, there are many natural 【小题3】 historical places around West Lake.

While aboard a boat on the lake, I could not 【小题7】 reminding myself of the story of Su Causeway (苏堤) which was built by our famous poet Su Shi. He 【小题8】 it for preventing the flood. The local people named the bridge Su Causeway in 【小题9】 of what he did for them.

The “ice city” of Harbin, one of China’s most beautiful cities, attracts (吸引) the attention of a number of visitors every winter.
