19-year-old teenager Gabby Kanizay has become famous around the world. She is known as the youngest Australian to climb Mount Qomolangma—the world’s highest mountain. According to Kanizay, to prepare for the climb was really hard work, which required a lot of training. Before she reached the top of Mount Qomolangma, she even made four trips to the Himalayas in 2018 and 2019 and also climbed Cho Oyu, the world’s sixth highest mountain. Thanks to her efforts, she reached the top of Mount Qomolangma successfully in May, 2022. Kanizay said the best part of the journey was that she and her mother reached the top together. They spent an hour on top of the mountain and watched the sunrise from the top. In Kanizay’s opinion, the journey was not easy. “Parts of it were harder than I thought it would be, but the mountain surprised me a lot,” Kanizay said. “I will climb whatever mountain that draws me next,” Kanizay said. “I want to improve myself. I love mountains and I just want to keep climbing. ” |
