Xavier MeCoury can only see black, white and grey (灰色). He can’t see red, green, yellow, blue, brown, purple, pink, orange or other colours. So you can know Xavier is colour-blind.

Now Xavier is ten years old. He has a pair of EnChroma Glasses from his aunt Celena. The glasses help him see all the colours.

When Xavier puts on the glasses for the first time, he is shocked (震惊的) at seeing many colours. “Can you see my shirt? Purple?” His dad asks. Xavier cries happily and says “yes”.

“Thank you!” He says to his aunt. His mum, Melissa, says, “Xavier is happy to see many colours with the glasses for the first time. He says he doesn’t want to take off (摘掉) the glasses.”

Ana, her husband Mario, and their ten-year-old son, Antonio, just moved to North Carolina. They need a home. Now they are staying in a hotel not far from Mario’s company. Ana wants to look for a flat for the family to live in.

First, Ana reads some flat rental (出租) advertisements in the newspapers. Some flats have a pool, and others have a gym and a sauna (桑拿) facility. Ana finds that the more facilities a flat has, the more it costs each month. She wants the family’s new flat to be nice, but she doesn’t want to spend too much money. Ana and Mario are trying to save money to buy a house.

After thinking about prices, facilities and locations, Ana chooses five flats from the advertisements. When Mario gets back to the hotel from work, Ana shows him the list of flats.

The next day, Ana and Mario go to the estate agency and visit these flats. They both like the fifth one best. It is in a good school district. It has a pool, but it doesn’t have a gym or a sauna facility. It is near Mario’s company. Finally, they find a suitable flat to live in.
