People say that Changsha is a busy city. For local people, the day often starts with a bowl of rice noodles.

Chen Xueyi, 48, owns his restaurant for 27 years. The restaurant is small, but it’s famous for its delicious rice noodles. Chen starts working at 4 a.m. every day and stays busy until the evening—making soup, preparing toppings (浇头), and cooking rice noodles.

To make delicious rice noodles, Chen uses pork bones to make the soup. Later, he puts spring onions, salt, soy sauce (酱油) and meat on rice noodles. If you like, you can also ask for green beans and chilies (辣椒) in the rice noodles.

The tasty dish brings in a large number of people every day. Now, Chen sells three to four hundred bowls of rice noodles a day. As well as local people, travelers now come to his restaurant too. “I’m happy to have more guests (客人), but I am too busy now, so it would be good to keep it a small restaurant,” Chen said with a big smile.

“To make nice rice noodles, everything needs to be fresh, but the most important is that you have to put your heart into it,” said Chen.

Xavier MeCoury can only see black, white and grey (灰色). He can’t see red, green, yellow, blue, brown, purple, pink, orange or other colours. So you can know Xavier is colour-blind.

Now Xavier is ten years old. He has a pair of EnChroma Glasses from his aunt Celena. The glasses help him see all the colours.

When Xavier puts on the glasses for the first time, he is shocked (震惊的) at seeing many colours. “Can you see my shirt? Purple?” His dad asks. Xavier cries happily and says “yes”.

“Thank you!” He says to his aunt. His mum, Melissa, says, “Xavier is happy to see many colours with the glasses for the first time. He says he doesn’t want to take off (摘掉) the glasses.”

Jane comes from Canada. She teaches English in China now. She knows a little Chinese. It's Sunday. Jane goes to do some shopping. She comes out of her car and goes into(进入) a shop.

"What can I do for you?" the girl in the shop asks her in Chinese. So she says in Chinese, "A quilt (被子), please." The girl goes to the back of the shop. "My Chinese is not good. The girl knows me." She thinks. Soon (不久) the girl comes back, she gives Jane a cup (杯子). Jane is very happy.
