What would you like to eat on your birthday? The answer may be different 【小题1】 different countries.

In many countries, people 【小题2】 (usual) have birthday cakes with candles. The number of candles is people’s 【小题3】   (ages). If you are 15, there are 15 candles on your cake. Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). It falls on the last 【小题1】 ['sætədeɪ] of March every year. On this day, every family and business will turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical things for 【小题2】 hour to tell people the need to take action on climate change.

Earth Hour was first 【小题3】 (hold) four years ago in Sydney, 【小题4】 [ɒ'streɪlɪə]. About 2.2 million people and thousands of business turn off their non-essential lights. Following Sydney’s lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in March 2008. More than 400 cities, thousands of business and over 50 【小题5】 (million) people around the world turned off their lights for one hour. Earth Hour 2009 was much larger. 88 【小题6】 (country) and 4,088 cities took part in Earth Hour 2009. It is ten times more cities than Earth Hour 2008 【小题7】 (have).

Earth Hour 2010 took place on March 27, 2010 【小题8】 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm local time. We believe it must be another largest climate event in the 【小题9】 ['hɪstəri].

I am so excited. Guess what—it is my dad’s 40^th 【小题1】 (生日) next week. So we are going to London to 【小题2】 (庆祝) it! On Tuesday afternoon, we are going to the 【小题3】 (机场). I will take my 【小题4】 (照相机) with me. As soon as we arrive, we will go on a tour of the city. We will take a trip on the River Thames. On 【小题5】 (星期三) morning, we are going to 【小题6】 (参观) the Tate Modern. Since it is not far from our 【小题7】 (宾馆), we are 【小题8】 (计划) to walk there. In the afternoon, we are going to the London Eye. I can’t wait to see the Houses of Parliament from up there. Saturday is for shopping. I will buy a teddy bear for my cousin as a 【小题9】 (礼物) because I 【小题10】 (承诺) him. On Sunday morning, we are going to Hyde Park, and we are going home by plane in the afternoon. It is my dream trip—and it is happening.
