Can you eat weather?

A university makes that happen. It uses a 3D printer to create sweets based on the weather information of a certain day.

The shapes of the sweets are affected (影响) by wind speed. The colors of the sweets are decided by temperature. The sweets act as a weather record of the day when they are made.

Sunrise Bed

It’s hard for you to get up in the morning, isn’t it?

To help you get up, a company has created a kind of “future”—a sunrise bed. It wakes you up gently as a sunrise does. Lights built into the bed turn on and start to get brighter and brighter. When the lights are fully on, soft music will begin to play. It will be louder and louder until you turn it off. The company explains, “The gentle light tells your body that it is morning, so it stops producing a chemical that helps you sleep.”

When Spooner and Susan work together, they find that something is wrong with the world’s robots. A few robots have their own thoughts and they’re trying to get out of humans’ control（控制）! Of course these robots’ dream doesn’t come true. Humans work hard to control their robots again and they succeed at last.

There is a long way to go before this technology is available to everyone, as the suit is still quite expensive — one model is sold for $440, 000 (about 3 million yuan). It is also very noisy.

3D-printed houses

There are 1.2 billion people in the world who don't have a proper house to live in. The 3D-printed houses made by ICON in Texas may help to solve this problem. The company can print a single-storey house of 60m² in just 12 to 24 hours. The walls of the house are made of a special cement (水泥) that looks like cream. The 3D-printed houses use less cement than normal houses. 100 homes will be built for people in the Republic of Panama this year. Each house costs only $10,000.

Huawei Mate X

Is it possible to fold your phone screen? Huawei's newest phone, the Mate X, is foldable. You can fold it in half as if you are closing a book. The Mate X is very thin, working as both a phone and a tablet (平板电脑). When folded, it works as a phone. When unfolded, it is a tablet. The other highlight of Mate X is that it supports 5G which means users can download a whole movie in just a second. But users can take selfies only when the phone is folded, because the phone doesn't have a front camera.
