What can you do to stay in good health when you travel? There are a few things you should remember.

A holiday should be a way to relax, but very often it’s not. You may spend most of your time traveling to so many places. This can be very exhausting, and you may have a terrible headache （头痛）after a few hours. Remember you will get sick easily if you are very tired. When traveling, you should sometimes sit down for a few hours in a nice place.

Enough sleep is also important during your trip. If you have trouble sleeping at night, don’t be afraid to change rooms or hotels. If you want to stay out late at night, be sure to sleep for an hour or two during the day.

Finally, good eating is necessary when you travel. To stay healthy, you should eat different kinds of food and be careful about how much you eat. Too much food is not good for you.

Every year the Smiths go to the beach for a week's vacation（假期）. There are many interesting things to do at the beach The children have a good time on the vacation. They play games on the sands. Sometimes they make sandcastles. There is a saltwater swimming pool. The children can swim safely in the pool and the water is always clean.

There is a nice park and a square（广场）by the beach. There are many cafe rooms, fruit shops and restaurants on the square. The Smiths like taking a walk after supper.

The Smiths always stay at the same hotel. They usually have the same rooms. These rooms are at the front of the hotel. There is a good view of the sea from their windows. The children are a little sad when the vacation is over because they don't want to go home.

Eight-year-old Maya and her parents were on vacation. They were walking in the Appalachian Mountains. The Appalachians are a group of mountains in North America.

Maya’s family were walking on a long, long road. Its name is the Appalachian Trail. It starts in the US state (州) of Maine and ends in the state of Georgia. Maya and her family started near their home in Maryland. This was Maya’s first time to leave her state. After walking for some days, the family took a rest (休息) in West Virginia.

Every evening, Maya and her family would make a campfire. She loved to dance around it. She also enjoyed sleeping in a tent each night. Maya wanted to remember everything interesting on her vacation and she had her special way to do that — drawing. For example, when she came across new animal, she would take out her pencil quickly.

Maya learned that she had to be quiet if she wanted the animals to stay. She also drew lot of flowers. Maya thought that flowers were much easier to draw, because they didn’t run away!
