Housework is a part of family life. To let children have more time to play, some parents don’t ask their kids to do housework. Others teach kids to do housework to make kids become independent (独立的). Then here comes a question: Should children help with housework? My answer is “yes” and the following are my reasons(原因).

Housework teaches kids life skills(技能). Many of the life skills are things that teachers do not teach. That makes learning to do housework become even more important.

Housework makes kids learn responsibility(责任) and independence. Living with their parents, they should know that every family member should do their part in keeping the house clean. After they do things by themselves, they won’t always ask their parents for help.   

      . When parents do housework, most children think it’s easy. Unless (除非) children try some housework themselves, they won’t know how hard their parents are. Therefore(因此), giving them housework may help this insight(深入理解) come quickly.

Housework help improve(提高) children’s planning skills. When children have homework, housework and out-door activities in a day, they need to decide what to do first. Then they will improve their planning skills. This will become more and more important when children get older and have more responsibilities at school and at home.

It’s true that studies are important for children, but it doesn’t mean that they need to spend all the time on their studies. At different ages, there is some housework that is right for children. Doing right housework can teach your child valuable(有价值的) lessons and they will last into his later years.

ChatGPT, a smart AI chatbot（聊天机器人）tool, has swept the education world in the past months. 【小题1】 You can ask it to write stories and emails, translate languages, and answer all kinds of questions.

Such a powerful tool causes worries and anxieties throughout the schools. 【小题2】 It also does not build critical-thinking（批判性思维）and problem-solving skills.

Some even worry that ChatGPT could be used to spread incorrect information. Some schools in the US, Australia and France have banned（禁止）the use of ChatGPT. 【小题3】 They try to design more speaking exams and handwritten papers instead of typed ones in order not to use ChatGPT.

【小题4】 Bhaskar Vira, the principal（校长）at the University of Cambridge in the UK, said that it is not wise to ban the use of ChatGPT. He thinks people have to know that AI is a tool people will use. Some universities in Canada are now making policies （政策）on the use of ChatGPT. 【小题5】 They think what we need to do is to adapt （适应）our learning, teaching and examinations. That way, we can have honesty while recognizing the use of the tool.
