Tet Trung Thu is a Vietnamese (越南的) festival. It falls on the fifteenth of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar year. It celebrates the full moon in September or October, a time when the moon is at its fullest and most beautiful time. This festival has a history of hundreds of years.

People wait for the full moon and then the festival can begin. There’s a special meal, including(包括) sweet or salty moon cakes.

People also celebrate Tet Trung Thu as Children’s Day in Vietnam. They carry lighted lanterns in the streets. The lanterns come in all shapes and sizes. Some are like full moons, others are like birds, fish, butterflies and planes.

There are dragon dances with drums. Everyone takes part in the celebrations late into the night.

For some countries like China and the US, spring begins in March and ends in May. While, September, October and November are spring months in other countries like Australia and New Zealand.

Spring is a magical time of the year, when the cycles of birth and regrowth begin, and the world comes back to life. Countries and cultures around the world have had different spring celebrations since ancient times.

Chinese people often eat spring pancakes with their family or friends on the day called lichun. This tradition means bite-the-spring in Chinese. In the past, people believed this would lead to a good harvest year.

Each spring, people in India celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colors. During Holi, everyone is happy with the arrival of spring. People are excited about coming out into streets and neighborhoods with lots of bright colors and a festive cheer. Some people use water guns and water-filled balloons to play and colour each other. Some simply pushed their friends into pools of colorful water. During Holi, many neighborhoods and group events play fun music and everyone dances as a group.

In France, with the arrival of spring, the Versailles Estate (凡尔赛宫) gets ready for one of the season’s most beautiful events: the Versailles Fountains Show. Gardens of Versailles are decorated with beautiful fountains and other water games. On April 1st every year, Versailles’ fountains begin to work, which marks the start of spring. They take place on Tuesdays and Sundays and people can admire the wonderful fountains of Versailles.

From May 16 to May 23 in 2019, the Asian Cuisine Festival Guangzhou was held to encourage communication among Asian countries.

During the festival, there were a number of activities showing Guangzhou culture and the beauty of Asian cuisine.

Visitors have enjoyed all the best foods of Asia in one city, with a list of the 24 top restaurants in Guangzhou. Many famous people were invited to have morning tea, tasting the popular food like shrimp dumplings, beef or fish balls, chicken feet, etc.

Besides, “My Favorite Asian Cuisine” was held in Guangzhou to choose the best restaurants and dishes. A 1.2-meter-long hand-painted picture was published. The picture was about the cuisine choices along the Pearl River. Food and technology companies were also invited to show how to make traditional food by using modern technology. Visitors could buy other products about traditional food and culture, such as books, postcards and stamps.

The slogan (口号) of the festival is "Enjoying Asian Cuisine and Savoring the Taste of the Milennium Flower City".

Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, is well-known for is rich food and its culture. The director of the festival said that one would need a year or two, rather than a day or two, to fully enjoy the best of Guangzhou cuisine.
