Cassie hasn’t been able to save any money, and she wants to buy a guitar. She does not know where all her money goes. So she asks her parents for help setting up a budget. Here are the steps she followed.

She wrote down the money she earned in the first week.

Money Earned

Be mother’s helper for Mrs. King …$ 5.00                                                Total .....................................$ 14.00

At the end of the first week, she looked it over. Then she found that she had spent too much money. So she looked for ways to spend less and save more. She decided to bring snacks from home. She also decided that she would see if another family in the neighborhood needed a mother’s helper.
