Sam brought some big red apples to a summer camp. He ate a few and put others into a box under his bed. After lunch, he found there was nothing in the box. He told his camp teacher, a smart man, about it.

The next day, the teacher saw a boy eating an apple behind a tree. He had a good idea. He said to Sam, “I know who took away your apples. Will you help me teach him a lesson?”

“Well, yes. But what should I do?” Sam asked. “I want you to write to your mother and ask for more apples,” the teacher answered.

A few days later, Sam got another box of apples from his mother. “Now,” said the teacher, “go and give some to the boy who took away your apples.” Although Sam didn’t understand why, he did that.

Half an hour later, the teacher saw the two boys playing together happily. The boy gave Sam a toy car as a gift. But Sam didn’t accept it. He said that a few apples were nothing.

Sometimes, being kind to others is more important than many other things.

Jenny began to go to school when she was at the age of six. She liked her first day very much. Her teacher, Miss Black, was very nice,too.

At the end of the second day, the other children left the classroom after school, but Jenny stayed behind and waited. At first, Miss Black had some work to do and did not see Jenny, but then she looked up and saw her.

“Why not go with the others, Jenny?” she asked her kindly, “Did you want to ask me some questions?”

“Yes, Miss Black,” Jenny said. “What is it?” Miss Black asked.

“What did I do in school today?” Jenny said.

Miss Black laughed, “What did you do in school today?” she said, “Why did you ask me that, Jenny?”

“Because I’m going home now,” Jenny answered, “and my mother’s going to ask me.”

I have many teachers now and I like them all, but I think I like my English teacher Mary best. Mary is from the UK. But she likes China very much. She thinks China is great. She loves Chinese food. Do you know what she likes for breakfast? Bread or milk? No, she doesn’t. She only has noodles. Hot pot(火锅) is her favorite and she always eats it on Saturday and Sunday.

Mary has a daughter and a son. Her daughter’s name is Ella. Her son’s name is Mike. They are 8 years old. They go to the same school. They like hot pot, too. They are all in Chongqing now.

We have English from Monday to Friday. So Mary is very busy. But she is always nice and happy. All my classmates like her and her classes very much. She always plays English games and sings English songs(歌曲) with us. When we have questions, we like to ask her for help. Now I think I can do well in English because I have the best English teacher.
