You may not realize it, but you are doing much more than just studying when you are at school. School is also the place where you learn to get on well with people. But this is not always easy. What can you do if you just don't like one of your classmates?

If you discover that you have problems getting along with your classmates or friends, the most important thing to learn is tolerance. Tolerance is the ability to realize and respect the differences in others. We can not change the way that other people do, so it is important to learn to live happily with them.

Tolerance will make everyone get on better with each other. Getting to know someone may help you understand why they do things differently. Something different does not exactly mean that it is bad. Tolerance teaches us to keep a temperate and open mind.

You need to remember an old saying, “Treat others how you want to be treated.” You would like to be treated kindly by your classmates, so it is important to treat them kindly too. If you tolerate something, it does not mean that you have to like it. No one is asking you to change who you are or what you believe in. Tolerance just means that you should respect the differences in others and not try to make them change.

It is important to practice tolerance, because it will make everyone's life easier. Learn to accept people for their different abilities and interests. The world is very different, and practicing tolerance in your own school and city can help make a difference.

Put 2 February in your diary! It is World Wetlands Day! It marks the date that the Convention(公约) on Wetlands was signed(签署)in1971.This special day was first celebrated in 1997 and it is celebrated every year.
The celebration is a call for action. It is a way to show people how important and useful the wetlands are for people. Honestly, I had never enjoyed reading science movies until a friend of mine handed a copy of The Three-Body Problem into my hands. “You’ve just got to read this novel!”

“But I have no interest in superheroes fighting aliens to save the world. I prefer real people dealing with real-life situations.”

“Exactly. That’s why I want you to read it”

But, he was right. I fell in love with the book from the very beginning and finished it in only a couple of days. One reason why it was such a page-turner was Liu Cixin’s wonderful story-telling style. I especially liked his way of dealing with time.It starts back in history, nearly 60 years ago. Then, it jumps forward 40 years, when the characters have become elderly men and women, before jumping back again.

And the lives of Ye Wenjie and Wang Miao certainly kept me turning the pages. However, I also fell in love with this book because it was thought-provoking (发人深省的). Yes, there are aliens in it, but the theme of this story is life on Earth and how we humans are making the planet in danger. Real-world science, history and philosophy (哲学) are made into this very attractive story.

The Three-Body Problem has enjoyed great popularity worldwide. It’s no surprise then, that it has been adapted (改编) into a TV series. At first, I didn’t like this idea. Books often lose a lot of their value when they are made into TV series. Books are slow. You need patience to understand what is going on. TV moves much faster. It is packed with action and cool characters. Young people are often more interested in what they see on their screens than in the stories and their messages. But once you do fall in love with reading, you will realize that it is a good book, not a TV series that will be your friend for life.
