Pranavh Vallabhaneni, 15, studies at Unionville High School, Pennsylvania, US. Four years ago, he and his family were preparing something for his new baby brother.
“My parents were shopping for car seats,” Vallabhaneni said, “From the shopkeeper, I learned that many babies died in cars, when parents left them inside on hot days. I was very worried.”
He wanted to solve this problem. He made a special device(装置). It can send a message to parents’ mobile phones when their car gets too hot. It also makes a sound and tells nearby police officers.
Vallabhaneni’s device took first place at a global K-12 education competition. He is asking for a patent(专利) and hopes to help more people.
“It’s good to see how it grows from an idea to an invention,” Vallabhaneni said, “I hope it will save lives and make the world better.”
