How do you deal with plastic bags from the supermarket? Throw them away or reuse them? How about eating them?

Envigreen in India has made a bag with 12 natural ingredients (食材), such as potatoes, vegetable oils and bananas. It looks and feels just like the usual plastic bag, but can break down. The bags arent harmful to the environment. Both humans and animals can safely eat them. The founder of Envigreen, Ashwath Hedge, spent four years trying them out.

Although the Envigreen bags are much more expensive than those usual plastic bags, they are good for our environment. Usually, it takes about 1000 years for usual plastic bags to break down. Who wants to carry a bulky bag to school? No children. Nobody wants one shoulder to be lower than the other, and paining, too. In India, most of people would look at the reduction(减少) of textbooks as a way out. But in a country like America, there are always more choices. A company called goReader has created a “school bag” which is the size of a laptop computer, weighing about 1.5 kg. The goReader has a color screen and can “hold” all the textbooks that a student may need, says a report in The Asian Age newspaper.
The company plans to work closely with the publishers(出版商) of textbooks so that these books can be supplied on the Internet. All the students will have to do is to download their textbooks from the Internet. Taking notes and marking important parts of a lesson can be done just as lots of students have done on their textbooks before.
At present, the plan is being tested out in a university. Richard Katzmann, the owner of this company is having his creation tested at Chicago's DePaul University, where he studied. Does that mean it is goodbye to the new paper, and the smell of the black ink?

A lot of people have the habit of reading on the toilet. But in some public restrooms in Shanghai, you won't be able to do that. If you spend more than fifteen minutes on the smart toilet there, a restroom worker will come to check on you.

According to reports, about 150 high-tech restrooms have been built in the city. Each toilet there has a sensor(传感器) that can check when a person sits on the toilet and how long he has spent sitting there. Besides, the sensor can also check the air quality inside the toilet and check the water level to save water. Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are also going to use smart toilets.

"I think it's okay with me because I don't think it's a good idea to read on the toilet," a 22-year-old young man said. However, some people aren't very happy with the smart toilet." This could be embarrassing for me. Since I was a little kid, I've always spent about half an hour on the toilet. It means a restroom worker would check on me twice. This makes me nervous." another person, Mr.Liu said.

In fact, the smart toilet is part of China's effort to use artificial intelligence(AI)(人工智能) in different areas of life. Now technology is being used almost everywhere. More than 700 cities in China have planned or are in the process of building smart infrastructure(基础设施). Our life is becoming much smarter and easier, isn't it?
