Canada Geese are large blue and white birds. When autumn comes, they have to move to South where the weather is warmer. The winters are so cold in Canada that the birds will die if they stay there.

Last spring, Bill Lishman found sixteen young Canada Geese on his farm. They had lost their parents. Bill thought, “These young birds won’t know what to do in the autumn.”

Bill had a small plane and he decided to teach the birds to follow him. All through the summer, he went on short trips in his plane and the young geese flew after him.

When the cold weather arrived in the autumn, Bill flew to Virginia in the United States, 600 miles south of his home in Canada. The geese followed him all the way. Bill left the geese in Virginia and he returned home.

This spring, Bill was waiting for the birds to come back. They didn’t arrive, so Bill flew to Virginia to get them. He looked for them for two weeks but he couldn’t find them.

When he arrived back home, Bill found the geese waiting for him. They had found their way home without him!

Spiderman saves the day

A comic book fan dressed as Spiderman became a real superhero on Saturday. He tackled a thief who was trying to steal an expensive comic book.

Michael Wong, 24, was wearing a Spiderman costurne to attend the Asian Festival of Comics at the Sunny Sports Club. 【小题1】

“There were about 50 people at the festival wearing superhero costurnes that day,” said Maddie Tam, the festival organizer. “【小题2】. However, we didn’t expect to see any of them actually stop a crime.”

The thief did not have a chance to escape. While Spiderman took hold of his T-shirt, several Star Wars characters waited at the exit to prevent him from leaving. 【小题3】

“At first, I thought it was part of the festival,” said Sharon Luk, a fan dressed as Wonder Woman. “【小题4】”

“We were rather surprised when we arrived,” said Police Constable Albert Mak.“It can be easily seen that Spiderman hates to let criminals get away. 【小题5】”

“Crime fighting is easy for Spiderman,” Mr Wong said, laughing. “The poor man was a bit unlucky as I teach judo (柔道) here at the club.”

When Will Restall was in fifth grade, he received bus safety training at school. Local bus drivers taught students about how to use the buses’ two-way radios. A two-way radio is a radio that can both send and receive message. 【小题1】 . And they show the students how to use them in emergency (紧急的) situation. Will used what he learned to help a hurt bus driver get quick medical treatment. People in his hometown now call the 11-year-old a hero for his brave actions.

Will was taking the school bus to school one morning.【小题2】. He had to wait 10 minutes or so before he could get off the bus.

But then he heard a loud noise and looked up to see what happened. 【小题3】. She had passed out and fell over on the bus’ stairs.

Will left his seat, grabbed the two-way radio and reported that the driver was hurt.

【小题4】Soon, another bus driver and an ambulance (救护车) arrived to help. When they got there, the bus driver was awake and sitting up, but not speaking. They sent the driver to the hospital. Will and everyone else on the bus went to class as usual. Will’s brave actions attracted a lot of attention.【小题5】, although he didn’t want to be the spotlight (公众注意的焦点).

“I had to ask him,” said his father, Tim Restall.
