The film Sister tells the story of a 24-year-old girl named An Ran played by Zhang Zifeng. When An Ran was a little girl, the one-child policy was still in effect. Her parents forced her to pretend (假装) to be disabled so that they could have a second child — her little brother. After the boy’s birth, her parents gave almost all of their love to their son. An Ran became an “unwanted” child and she felt very sad. She made up her mind to live a good life by herself.

Unluckily, when she was preparing for an important exam, her parents died in a car accident. She became the only family of her younger brother, She faced a difficult choice between pursuing (追求) her own life and raising her younger brother. After thinking for a long time, An Ran decided to send her 6-year-old brother to a foster family (寄养家庭). However, some of her relatives didn’t agree to the decision. They thought An Ran should raise her brother. The film has an open ending, leaving people to guess if An Ran will change her mind.

In this movie, I see a different Li Bai. He can’t take keju because of his family. He drinks a lot and goes to the parties. When he is old, he makes a mistake (错误) and is banished (流放). He has so many problems. But to my surprise, he never loses hope. He leaves us so many beautiful and wonderful poems to enjoy.
