What does a cake look like? Maybe you’ve got lots of different answers in mind, but Zhou Yi and his team’s cakes will certainly make you feel amazed!

Zhou is called China’s “Sugar King”. Last November in the UK, he and his team won three gold medals and two bronze medals (铜牌) at the International Cake Competition, the world’s largest cake competition.

Zhou and his team’s cakes show not only their great cake—making skills, but also traditional Chinese culture and art. For example, one of the gold medal—winning cakes shows China’s first and only female (女性的) emperor Wu Zetian as a young woman. 4. Make the rice dumplings as follows.

1First, wash the leaves. And hold a leave, fold it round in the middle and make a funnel(漏斗) till both ends are laid over each other in one direction.

2Next, use about 1/10 kg of rice and some slices of pork for each dumpling.

3Then add some rice to the dumpling. The meat must be covered by the rice so that they won’t lose too much nutrition in cooking.

4Finally, fold the leaves up to seal(密封) the open side of the funnel and tie the bundle with a string. Make sure that it is tied neither too tight nor too loose.

Now, boil the rice dumplings in a pot for 40 minutes. You can enjoy the rice dumplings with your family!

Today is my mother’s birthday, so I want to make a birthday cake for her. Here are the ingredients（配料）for the cake: flour（面粉）, sugar, eggs, milk, vegetable oil, chocolate and cream. All of the ingredients are OK now, and I can begin now.

Put all of the ingredients i 1 a large mixing bowl, except chocolate and cream. Mix them together, and then use a spoon to beat them for a few minutes.

Then pour the boiling water into the bowl, a little at a time.

Next put the cake in the oven for 25~35 minutes.

Cool the cake after getting it out from the oven.

Boil the chocolate and cream until the chocolate melts. Then a 2 them to the cake.

On the top of the cake, I can put some fruit. It looks delicious and colorful.

This is the first time I have tried to make a cake by myself. I’m so excited.
