In today’s world, people are spending less and less time on things. A study shows that most visitors spend just 15 seconds on a website before moving on to other things. It’s easy to understand because there are millions of websites on the Internet. What will people do when they’re in museums full of great works of art? Will they slow down a little more? The answer is no.
Studies show that it takes most people ten seconds to look at a piece of art. At Tate Modern in London, it’s even worse. People there spend an average of just eight seconds on each artwork. And in that short time, the visitors also do another important thing—taking photos!
These years, museums are working to change this. Today, over 170 museums around the world are having “Slow Art Day”. Most of the museums taking part in “Slow Art Day” are choosing just a few works for their visitors to enjoy. They are asking their visitors to spend at least 5—10 minutes looking at just one work of art.
Slow Art backers think that when visitors spend more time looking at and studying the work of art, they will enjoy it more. By spending time, they can see more details about the work. Studying a work of art for more time can also help people get a better understanding of the artist’s ideas. Phil Terry, who started “Slow Art Day”, said, “By slowing down, it helps us to see art in a new way.”

There were far fewer cars and people on the streets in Wuhan on the Eve of the Chinese New Year.

For most people, they were lonely during the Spring Festival because they had to stay at home. But there were also lots of people fighting against the epidemic (传染病).

In the past, parents always asked their children to study hard and never let them do chores. It’s not good for the children’s overall development. Luckily, many parents have realized the importance of doing chores and begun to teach them to do it.
I think it’s responsible (有责任的) for the parents of every family to teach their children to do chores. For some families, teaching children what to do and how to do chores is easy. For other families, asking children to do some chores can be a very big problem.
It is a good idea for parents to teach their children to do chores at an early age. All family members must work together to make the house clean, and each person must do his or her share (份) of the work. We can do this by starting a program of chores and responsibilities (责任) when children are young.
Doing chores is helpful for children even very young ones. Doing some chores can teach children many important skills, such as working together and being responsible for what they do. Doing chores can also teach children to help others. The skills and value (价值) from doing chores will be good to children in their lives.
