I am Mary. I will have a busy weekend.

On Saturday morning, I will go to the park with my friends. We will go there by bike because we can see the beautiful scenery（风景）on the way. At noon, we can have a picnic in the park. In the afternoon, we want to visit our friend Rose. She gets a bad cold and stays at home for two days. In the evening, I will visit my aunt with my father and mother because it is her birthday. We will have a party in her house.

On Sunday morning, I will go to the bookshop with my good friends. We want to buy some story books. After lunch, I will read the story books and do my homework. In the evening, I want to clean my room and watch TV. How busy I am!

Mr. Clarke hated to do the housework. He wouldn’t stay at home on weekends. As his wife always told him to do some washing or cleaning, or he had to cook for his family, he always made some excuse (借口) on Friday evenings.

Recently Mr. Clarke was interested in playing cards, but he was afraid to let his wife know. So every Sunday afternoon he brought some fish home. It made his wife happy and she never asked where he spent his weekends.

One Saturday morning, Mr. Clarke left home at 7 o’clock. He took a bus and got off at a stop near a small town. His friends were waiting for him in a small hotel. They played cards there. Mr. Clarke didn’t go home until 7 o’clock on Sunday evening. He went in the shop near the bus stop as usual. As soon as the shopkeeper saw him, the man said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Clarke. I have no fish today. What about some chickens legs?” “Don’t be silly!” said Mr. Clarke. “I can’t tell my wife that I went fishing but caught some chicken legs, can I?”

Mr. and Mrs. Smith lived in a quiet village. One weekend, they went to a big city for a vacation. Mrs. Smith was very excited, because she was a housewife. She stayed at home every day. It was boring.

After they got to the city, they would like to go to the movies first and then have dinner at a restaurant. At night, they would stay at a five-star hotel.

“Wow! The plan is so great. I like it!” Mrs. Smith said. Then they went to the movies. After seeing an exciting action movie, it was time for dinner. They went into a restaurant and had a lot of delicious food there.

“It is a nice place!” said Mr. Smith. Then he put his hands into his pocket to get the wallet. But he found it was missing.

That night, everything changed. They didn’t spend a romantic (浪漫的) time at the hotel. Instead, they had to go to the police station for help.
