I take the No. 10 bus to work at about eight every day. So I meet almost the 【小题1】 people on it. For many months, I noticed 【小题2】 elderly man get on at one of the stops.
He 【小题3】 a white T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans every day. 【小题4】 they were well worn(破旧的), they were clean. I never spoke with this gentleman, but I could tell he 【小题5】 a not-so-rich life. One day, I decided to drive to work. I noticed the gentleman standing on a street corner, with a sign in his left 【小题6】 asking for money.
After I came back 【小题7】 that day, I wrote him a note in my study, saying I was thankful for what little I had in my life and that I wanted to share some of it with him. The next day I gave 【小题8】 the note and some money in a small envelope(信封)after he got on the bus. The next day, he handed me a note on the bus, too.
The note read:
Hi Larissa,
Thank you very much for your kindness. I will 【小题9】 the money to buy next month’s tickets. Your note really provided me 【小题10】 a very pleasant and exciting start to the week. I hope you continue to enjoy a charmed(如有神佑的)life.
John
I will keep his note forever! We now smile and nod to each other on the bus every morning.
