Toby likes eating at restaurants with his family or his friends. He is excited when he gets his favorite food. However, eating at a restaurant too often is not healthy. It is difficult to know the cooking ways in restaurants behind the closed doors of their kitchens. Do they wash vegetables clean? Do they use clean plates? Does that mean you shouldn’t eat at a restaurant any longer? The answer is “no”. The key is to eat smartly. Here are some good ideas to eat healthily at a restaurant.

Drink some fresh fruit juices when you are eating at restaurants. Stay away from aerated drinks(碳酸饮料) as much as possible. They are not good for your health. Make sure to drink more water. Water is not only important for your body, but also can help you not eat too much. Drink soups made from fresh vegetables, fish or white meat. Make sure that your meal is free from preservatives(防腐剂).

Do the map reading if you’re being driven somewhere. It may be easier if you keep reading the map so it follows the direction you’re travelling in. Keep looking ahead so that you can give the driver lots of warnings before having to make a turn.
Get a group of friends together and go exploring, You’ll need a good map, a compass (指南针), a raincoat, a cellphone to call for help to avoid getting lost, and some cash (现金) for emergencies.
