Welcome to my hometown, Wuhan!

Wuhan is a wonderful place to spend your 【小题1】 (令人放松的) holiday. Every year, it attracts   【小题2】 (百万) of visitors from home and abroad. Many people call Wuhan a “City on Rivers. ” The city is divided by the Yangtze River, the longest river in Asia. You can 【小题3】 (乘坐) a ferryboat to travel between Wuhan’s old towns. Or you may stand back and admire the magnificent Yangtze River Bridge. The bridge is 【小题4】 (著名的) because it was the first one to connect rail travel between the northern and 【小题5】 (南方的) part of China.

Wuhan has more than 3,500 years of history. There are 【小题6】 (充足的) of historical buildings The most well-known one is perhaps the Yellow Crane Tower. It sits 【小题7】 (高高地)on a hill overlooking the Yangtze River. The tower has inspired lots of literary works. I am sure you are familiar with them.

What’s the best time of the year to visit Wuhan? My answer would definitely be spring! Cherry, plum and peach blossoms all come to life at the same time. The Cherry Blossom Avenue that goes     【小题8】 (通过) Wuhan University is home to nearly 200 cherry blossom trees.

Many foreign visitors say the most unforgettable part of their Wuhan trip is the food. I won’t be surprised by this. The city is 【小题9】 (尤其) known for lots of delicious snacks. Remember to try the hot- dry noodles.

Do you know an old city 【小题1】 (call) “Pingyao” in Shanxi? It’s a town with a long history of more than two thousand years. 【小题2】 (thousand) of people come 【小题3】 (visit) the old town every year. They want to have a look at the Chinese traditional 【小题4】 (build) there.

The old city is not very large. And there are no tall buildings here. Most of the buildings have only two floors. And most of them 【小题5】 (make) of stones (石头). People all like to go 【小题6】 (walk) on the stone streets. There are many Chinese­style shops on either side (边) of the street.

Pingyao is a square (方的) city. The city has a wall around it. It’s about 6 kilometres long and 12 metres high.

Pingyao is not far from Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province (省). You can take buses or trains here. It’s less than two 【小题7】 (hour) bus ride from Taiyuan. It costs you only 20 yuan. If you take a train, it 【小题8】 (take) you only one and a half hours 【小题9】 (get) here. And it 【小题10】 (not cost) you too much.
