Hi, I’m Lingling. I’m a student at No. 14 Secondary School. Do you want to know my life? Let me tell you about it. I usually get up at 7:00 in the morning. I have my breakfast at 7:10. My parents always prepare (准备) the breakfast for me. I go to school at 7:30. We have 7 lessons every day from Monday to Friday. I like English lessons very much.

After school, I like playing ping-pong and basketball with my friends. There is a very big playground in our school.

Little Peter is a boy of nine. He is in Grade (年级) Three now. He lives near (在…附近) the school but he’s often late for class. He likes watching TV in the evening and goes to bed late, so he can’t get up on time in the morning.

This term Mrs. Black, Peter’s aunt, works in Peter’s school. She teaches math in Peter’s grade. She’s strict, and she often tells the boy to follow the school rules and come to school on time. Yesterday morning, Peter got up late. When he hurried to school, it was a quarter past eight. His aunt was waiting for him at the school gate.

“You’re fifteen minutes late for the first class, Peter.” Mrs. Black said angrily, “why are you often late for class?”

“Every time, when I get to the street corner, I always see a guidepost (路标). It says, ‘SCHOOL—GO SLOW!’”

My name is Julia Smith. I come from Canada, but I live in Beijing now. I live here with my family. I’m new here. I’m in Class Five, Grade Seven in Beijing International School.

In my class, many classmates are Chinese. Some of them can speak English very well, but other students can not. I often help them with some English problems. I like Chinese and China a lot, but I don’t know much about them. My classmates are nice to help me. We often speak Chinese in class. I read Chinese books every morning. I have a Chinese pen pal, too. I read letters from my pen pal. These letters are in Chinese. All of these help me a lot. I think my Chinese is good now.
