Jada and Jessie are twins. They are ten now and in the fourth grade. Jada and Jessie do everything together. They are in the same class. They dress alike. They look the same. People always get confused (困惑). Even their father has problems telling them apart (分辨). Their mother doesn’t, although. She always knows which twin is which.

Last weekend, their father told their mother to take them to the hairdresser’s (理发室), and asked him to get one of them a different haircut (发型) so that he could tell them apart. Jada and Jessie were not happy. They didn’t want to look different. Their mother came to stop it, and refused (拒绝) to cut their hair. The girls just didn’t want to change their haircut.

Helen Smith is a thirteen-year-old girl. She lives in the United States and studies in a middle school. She is very young but helpful. She and her friends are nice. They are in an association(协会) called Helping Others. They often work there and help people around them.

Sometimes when Helen goes out, she sees some homeless(无家可归的) people. They are ill and hungry. Helen wants to do more for them. She and the people in Helping Others build fourteen small houses this year. They also build a big garden. So the homeless people can grow some vegetables and do some exercise in it. She hopes they can have a better life there.
