Going to the library

A public library is a wonderful place for you to visit. It can help you with your homework, and have fun. When you go to a library, there is always someone there to help you find what you want. That someone is a librarian.

You can ask your librarian to help you find books about any subject that interests you. Libraries always have books about everything from airplanes to sharks. If you like to read fictions, your librarian can suggest adventure books, fantasy books and much more.

If you are having a hard time finding an answer to a question, ask your librarian to help you find the answer. Your librarian can help you locate information in magazines and newspaper articles, and on the computer.

Library is also a wonderful place to go if you want a quiet place to read or study. It has areas with cozy chairs where you can curl up and read a book. It also has tables and chairs where you can work on school reports.

Don’t forget to visit your library, and remember to thank your librarian for her help.

I’m Jack, a boy of 13 at a middle school. On holidays, my parents often take me to the zoo because I like animals. In the zoo I can see tigers, elephants, monkeys, pandas, bears, dolphins, giraffes and many other animals.

I think the most interesting animal in the zoo is the dolphin. I like watching dolphin swim and jump. They swim fast and they jump very high. They can play with a ball. They can stand up and “wall” on the water! They are very friendly to people. If you fall into the water and can’t swim, they may come to help you.

Some animals are very friendly, but some are not. Tigers, bears and some snakes are very dangerous. That is why they have to stay in cages. But I don’t think it’s good for them to stay in cages. They should be free. As we all know, tigers should live in forests（森林）. But now they can only walk in the cages. I feel sorry for them. I want them to be free.

I was born with a problem in my leg and mobility (行走能力) was a big challenge for me. Thanks to my teachers and friends, my school life was excellent.

My friends and I used to sit together and have lots of fun. Whenever we were free, we played games. I took part in most student activities, such as art festivals, English corners and birthday parties. My friends also helped me with my study. When I was absent from class, they took notes for me.

My English teacher was a beautiful lady. The moment she entered the class, we would all sit quietly and open the books. She would encourage me by giving me important assignments (功课). She would come down and listen to my English debate (辩论), which encouraged me to take part in all debate competitions. The same was true of my science teacher. She was very nice and sweet. She would always give me extra instructions on the science project. I could not go to the lab for experiments, so she would bring the lab down and help me with the science experiments and would give me excellent marks.

I was never shouted at or made fun of or scolded (批评) by any of my friends and teachers. I really want to express my love and thanks to all my wonderful teachers and friends. Without them my school life would not have been so excellent and unforgettable.
