How to get that job!

Interviews can be quite frightening but our top five tips can help you. Don’t worry, try to relax! Remember these things and you’ll be fine.

Find out exactly where the interview is and how to get there. Remember that buses and trains can often be late so allow plenty of time. It’s better to be early than late.

Think about what the interviewer will ask you. He or she will probably ask about your qualifications (资格) and your experience but they’ll also ask you why you want the job as well. Think of some possible questions and prepare your answers before you go.

If you wear something new it will make you feel uncomfortable. It’s best to wear something smart but something you like and feel happy in.

In the interview don’t sit looking at your feet. Make sure you sit up and look at the interviewers in the eye. This makes you look honest and more confident.

It’s a good idea to ask questions at the interview. Ask about the company or the job. Prepare some questions before the interview. It makes you look more interested if you do this.

Many students have already had clear ideas about what jobs they would like to have in the future. We believe boys’ choices are different from girls’. To find out how different their choices are, we made a survey at Green High School. The following diagram shows the results of the survey.

Kelly was on her school’s cheerleading(啦啦队) team. She joined her school team when she was a freshman (一年级学生). She enjoyed dancing in front of people and cheering for her school’s sports team. 【小题1】 She hoped that she could be a professional (专业的) cheerleader in the future. 【小题2】

However, her parents didn’t agree with her. They hoped that their daughter could do something normal. 【小题3】 Kelly didn’t think much of what they said.

Last week, Kelly cheered for her school’s basketball team. However, something bad happened to her. 【小题4】 Later, she was sent to the hospital. “Can I ever be a professional cheerleader?” she asked the doctor worriedly. “I’m afraid you cannot,” the doctor said.

Kelly was so upset. She had to change her plans and she was afraid of the future. Though she hurt the legs, she still refused to say goodbye to cheering. 【小题5】 She decided to work as a coach (教练) for high school cheerleaders in the future.
