At 8 o’clock yesterday, No. 2 bus 【小题1】 (go) along the road when the driver saw an old man   【小题2】 (lie) on the road. The driver stopped the bus without 【小题3】 (think) twice. He got off and 【小题4】 (know) the old man had a heart   【小题5】 (problem) and should 【小题6】 (go) to the hospital at once. He told the 【小题7】 (passenger) he must take the man to the hospital. He expected all the passengers 【小题8】 (get) off and wait the next bus. But to   【小题9】 (he) surprise, all the people agreed 【小题10】 (go) with him. Thanks to the driver, he only thought about 【小题11】 (save) a life. At last, the doctor saved the old man in time.

Last year, I went to South Africa, and then I worked as 【小题1】 volunteer at a Children’s Hospital. My role was to help make the kids feel happy 【小题2】 they were staying in the hospital. Sounds interesting, right? But some people can’t 【小题3】 (real) understand why I did it.

Let me tell you why I did volunteering. One of the main 【小题4】 (reason) was to help create a better future for people, no matter who or where they are. In this big world, so many people need help. Look at the children in the hospital where I worked. They felt 【小题5】 (scary) and lonely facing all the difficulties. So, why not try to help as 【小题6】 (much) people as possible. That was my thought.

Volunteering in Africa and 【小题7】 (help) people there let me see a side of the world that I didn’t know about before. I met people from all over the world, each with 【小题8】   (they) own ideas, experiences and dreams. We got to share so much with each other.

I really felt close 【小题9】 these people. We shared amazing memories and 【小题10】 (grow) together. I wanted to go back to my country with new experiences and ideas, so that I can help more people and create a brighter future for everyone!

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up 【小题1】 sign which said, “I am blind. Please help me.”

There were only a few coins in the hat. A man took a few coins from his pocket and dropped 【小题2】 (they) into the hat when he was walking by. He then took the sign, turned it over and wrote something. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new 【小题3】 (word).

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. 【小题4】 amazing it was!

That afternoon the man who changed the sign came to see how things were going. The boy recognized his footsteps and 【小题5】 (ask), “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?”

The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said, 【小题6】 in a different way. I wrote, ‘Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.’ ”

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the 【小题7】 (one) sign just said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were much 【小题8】 (lucky) than the boy because they were able to enjoy the beauty of the day.

Everyone should be thankful 【小题9】 what they have. Remember that when life gives you 100 reasons 【小题10】 (cry), show life that you have 1,000 reasons to smile.
